Location:
In this music video there are two main locations, The first is in the city and it is an apartment. We see this shot as a mid shot and the city is behind the main character. The city is normally seen as a busy stressful place and by the expression of the character we can tell that he isn't happy. The second location is in the countryside where we see it as a big, open free space. The character seems happier in this location. There is a big comparison between the location as one is all buildings and no grass, and the other is all grass with no skyscrapers only small cottages.
Clothes:
In the video there is a lot of characters, some more important then others and the main characters are wearing very stylish clothes which will get the audience to see them and think that that is the style so the audience will copy the video and wear the same clothes as the characters in the video. The main man has a black leather jacket with black jeans and the main female wheres a black leather jacket too and she wears a summer dress under her jacket.
Cinematography:
There are many shot types in the video, most of the singing is performed in a close up or mid shot, but there is a use of long shots and extreme long shots, when the cars are driving we see them in long and extreme long shots, we also see the countryside in long shots which shows the audience that it is free and open unlike the city. There are also camera angles used in the video. The best example of this is when he pulls up in his car at the end and he looks up at her, this is down in many films as it is giving the female the power because he was in the wrong by leaving her.
Props and Effects:
There aren't many props in the video but the main one throughout the video are the cars used. All of the cars used are very stylish and colourful. Lighting blue and yellow and red are used to grab the audiences attention. The models of the car are also very cool and wanted by the audience. It makes the man seem as if he is wealthy and stylish which means the audience will want to be like him. There aren't many effects in the video either, with only a couple of flares used to exaggerate the sunshine to the audience, and there are some filters used to make it seem more yellow/orange again to exaggerate the sunshine to the audience, it makes it feel much more happier and warmer for the audience.
Continuity/Montage Editing:
The video is in continuity editing with bits of montage as we start with on the phone but then having flashbacks of the past of how he and the woman were close together and had a good relationship, during the flashbacks we cut to present times of him driving to meet the women,and after the final of the flashbacks he arrives at a country club where he tells the women how much he loves her.
Concept/Narrative:
The music video is about a man that has an argument with his girlfriend driving to find her, as he is driving to meet her he is having flashbacks of how things use to be between the two of the in the past. By time he finds her at the country club he has found some people from a car convention and has brought them along to tell her how much he loves her and how he is sorry.
